Adobe is one of the most advanced computer software company settled in America. It is said to be advanced because this company has helped many industries to develop digitally. With the invention of software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Lightroom, etc. It has developed the concept about graphic designing.
Among most of its Top rated software like Photoshop and Illustrator, there is a software called the Adobe Lightroom which is said to be the boon for Photographers. It has helped the photographers to develop or post-process their images in a non-destructive way. Adobe fulfilled their goal of making a software that will help Photographers to process their images without harming them by creating Lightroom.
What is Lightroom?
In simple words, a Lightroom is a software which enables you to organize and edit your images. But, it actually doesn’t edit the images it just shows us that how the image will look after we apply those changes to the images keeping the actual image untouched.
As an example let’s say that you have an image of an object where if you could increase the saturation it would look more attractive. By importing that photo on Lightroom you can adjust its saturation using the sliders available on the develop section. After you adjust the saturation you will get a preview of the image after applying the edit. Then you can simply export the image from Lightroom. But, the main image will still be untouched on Lightroom. It will still be non – destructed.
This is how the Adobe Lightroom actually works.
Sections of Lightroom
Lightroom has a section called the Library which has an area known as a catalog. This catalog shows all the information about the RAW images you have imported on it. It also stores other image formats such as JPEG or TIFF. It acts as a preview of the imported images.
One major profit for using Lightroom is that it saves up a lot of space by storing those imported images on its free cloud storage.
The second section in Lightroom is known as Develop. By its name you can understand what it can do. Still, in simple words, we can say that this is the section where we can edit or post-process the images. In here we can adjust its colors, brightness, clarity, etc.
The histogram helps us to check the intensity of the edits over the original image.
The map is the section which actually helps us to work about the Metadata information like keyword inserting, geo-tagging, etc.
The book section helps us to create book covers and book designs using Lightroom photos.
This is another helpful section or function of Lightroom which helps us to create presentation slideshows and videos using the imported images on its library.
This section of Lightroom helps us to create web designs or web image galleries for updating websites with an ease.
Therefore now we can say that Lightroom helps us to create a workflow and edit images professionally without destroying the original image itself.
